Applications are now open for the Global Development Conference (GDC) 2025, a fully funded international event happening in Clermont-Ferrand, Francefrom October 28 to 30, 2025. This 3-day conference welcomes participants from all over the world.
Selected applicants will receive full sponsorship, including airfare, accommodation, and conference access. GlobalDev especially encourages science journalists to apply and take part in academic discussions, research activities, and conversations around global development challenges.

Program Purpose:
This program is designed to explore how digital transformation is shaping the future of sustainable development. The theme for GDC 2025 is “Inclusive Digital Transformation: Social Impacts and Technological Innovations.” It will highlight how technology is affecting people’s lives and communities, and how digital changes can help create a more inclusive and sustainable world.
- Participants will connect with experts, scholars, policy leaders, and development professionals.
- Workshops will help participants build strong, practical communication abilities.
Requirements:
Journalists from all countries are encouraged to apply. However, special consideration will be given to:
- Women journalists
- Journalists from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)
- Those representing underrepresented or underserved communities
Applicants must be available to join the event from October 28–30, 2025.
