Applications are open for the World Forum for Democracy 2025 in Strasbourg, France, hosted by the Council of Europe. This international event will run for three days, from November 5 to 7, 2025, at the European Youth Centre. Youth participants will arrive on November 2, 2025 to begin preparations.
There’s no fee to apply, and young people from every country are invited to take part. The focus for 2025 is: “Democracy at Risk: How Can We Bring It Back?”
The Forum offers a unique chance for participants to talk about the current threats to democracy and to share fresh ideas and solutions. It gathers young changemakers, decision-makers, civil society members, academics, and journalists—all working together to rethink and strengthen democracy for the future.

What Youth Delegates Do at the World Forum for Democracy:
Young people play a key role in the World Forum for Democracy. Their voices matter—they bring fresh ideas, share their opinions, suggest new solutions, and offer a youth perspective that adds real value to the conversations.The chosen young participants will arrive at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg two days ahead of the Forum.

Requirements:
- Young people from any country can apply.
- You must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- You should be comfortable speaking and working in English.
- You need to be involved in youth groups or organizations that aim to strengthen democracy in creative ways.
- You should be passionate about sharing your experiences and helping shape new ideas to support democracy.
