Einstein Fellowship Program 2026 in Germany (Fully Funded)

You can now apply for the 2026 Einstein Fellowship in Germany! This fully funded program runs for 5 to 6 months and is open to people from all countries. No application fee is required. The fellowship is offered by the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation. It gives you the chance to work on a new research idea that’s different from your past studies. Selected fellows will stay in the Garden Cottage at Einstein’s summer house in Caputh, Brandenburg. Good news—there’s no need for IELTS or TOEFL.

Fellowship Timeline:

The fellowship runs for six months, with flexible start and end dates. Participants will head to Germany in the summer.

  • Round-trip flight ticket provided
  • You can bring your family, but their travel costs aren’t included

Requirements:

  • People from any country can apply.     
  • You must be younger than 35 to apply.
  • You need a university degree in humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences to apply.
  • Your project idea should focus on something new, different from your past research.
  • Just show that your project is different from what you’ve worked on before, like your master’s thesis or published papers.

Necessary Documents:

  • Provide all documents in English.
  • A two-page plan for your project.
  • Resume/CV
  • Two reference letters

Outcomes:

We’ll start reviewing applications and conducting interviews in June, with final decisions made by July’s end.
