OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship 2026 in Switzerland (Fully Funded)

The OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Program, started in 1997, is now open for 2026 applications. This fully funded opportunity runs for four weeks in June or July 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. It offers hands-on training about the United Nations system, focusing on human rights and Indigenous peoples’ issues. The goal is to help participants use their knowledge to support their communities and organizations. Training is offered in English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Portuguese. Former fellows will help choose the new participants. All costs are covered, including flights, living expenses, and basic health insurance.

When & where will it be held?

Requirements:

  • The applicant must be Indigenous—non-Indigenous people are not eligible.
  • There’s no age limit, so anyone of any age can apply.

  • Applicants must be officially nominated and supported by their Indigenous organization or community, which should be well-established and truly represent its members.
