METI Government of Japan Internship 2025 (Fully Funded)

The METI Japan Internship Program (31P) is a fully funded chance for international students to gain real work experience with companies in Japan. Run by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the 2025 edition is open to undergraduate and graduate students from OECD/DAC countries. There’s no application fee, and no IELTS is needed.

A total of 100 interns will be chosen and placed in Japanese companies for a 6-week program. If selected, you’ll be matched with a company that suits your skills and interests. It’s an amazing opportunity to grow professionally and experience Japanese work culture firsthand.

Requirements:

  • You must hold citizenship from one of the eligible countries.
  • Comfortable using English for communication.
  • Typically between 18 and 40 years old by August 25, 2025.
  • Either studying at or graduated from a college or university.
  • Ready to provide proof of enrollment or graduation, along with a recommendation letter.
  • Available to take part in the full internship schedule without conflicts.
