Duties:
Staffing and Retaining
- Showcase the Brand: Connect with people and showcase the company at job fairs.
- Handle Hiring Steps: Share job ads, meet with candidates, and complete the hiring steps.
- Create Plans: Boost hiring and employee retention efforts before issues arise.
- Gather Feedback: Put retention programs in place to keep employees and lower turnover.
- Know the Immigration Rules: Help employers keep employees with valid work permits.
Employee Progress Tracking
- Monitor Absences: Handle the hotline to track attendance and performance.
- Lead Training: Oversee in-house training programs to help develop the team.
- Evaluate Work Performance: Gather and share evaluations regularly throughout the year.
- Supervise Onboarding Process: Make the onboarding experience smooth for new hires.
Team Spirit and Celebrations
- Plan Events: Take part in and manage events that strengthen the company culture.
- Design Incentive Plans: Arrange team rewards every two months to lift morale.
- Lead Reward Programs: Oversee weekly celebrations for work anniversaries and key milestones.
- Manage Communication: Oversee the “Para Verse” email and employee engagement activities.
Employee Relations
- Offer Advice: Make sure collective agreements are interpreted and applied consistently.
- Participate in Negotiations: Explore labor relations topics and help shape negotiation plans.
- Speak for Management: Serve as a representative in arbitration and grievance processes.
- Create Connections: Keep in touch with union officials to address labor concerns.
Main Duties
- Policy Creation: Update and create HR policies whenever necessary.
- Creating Content: Help create content for the website and social media platforms.
- Oversee HR System: Manage and maintain the HR system (BambooHR) to keep employee data organized.
- Build a Positive Space: Work together with team members to keep the workplace positive and supportive.
- Finish Paperwork: Create reports and handle documents in an organized and timely way.
Requirements:
- Study: A degree in BCOM or BBA with a focus on human resources or labor relations.
- Work History: A minimum of five years in HR, specializing in labor relations.
- Negotiation Skills: Experience supporting negotiations as a secondary participant.
- Legal Expertise: Solid knowledge of labor and employment laws in British Columbia.
- Tech Expertise: Skilled in using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and BambooHR (HRIS).
