Purpose of the Program:

The FRQNT Doctoral Training Scholarships are designed to support talented PhD students and strengthen research across Quebec and beyond. By encouraging more students to pursue advanced studies, the program helps build the skills needed to address global challenges—like climate change and emerging technologies.

Scholarship Benefits:

Chosen students will receive $25,000 per year for up to four years, helping to cover the cost of their PhD studies. This financial support is meant to ease money-related stress so students can fully focus on their research and academic goals.

Requirements:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a valid Quebec health insurance card (RAMQ), or
  • Show proof that you’ve been accepted into a PhD program at a Quebec university, or have a letter of support from a Quebec-based supervisor.
  • You must not have completed more than 14 full-time academic terms in your PhD program by May 1, 2026.
  • Applications can be written in French or English, but the title of the scholarship must be written in French.

Due Date of Application:

Submit your application for the 2026 FRQNT Doctoral Scholarships no later than October 1, 2025.
