The Kyoto Retreat welcomes artists, curators, and writers to experience Japan in a thoughtful and creative way.
It’s your time to explore new ideas, work on personal projects, and take a break to recharge and reflect in a peaceful setting.

  • Designed for Artists: Kyoto’s Kinkaku-ji and Ryoan-ji temples show the beauty of traditional Japanese design. Their play of light and shadow, intricate structures, and beautiful carvings are a great source of creative inspiration.
  • Made for Curators: Kyoto is like a living museum where you can experience traditional Japanese arts such as tea ceremonies, flower arranging (ikebana), and Noh theater. Its galleries and workshops show both old and modern Japanese art, revealing how creativity has grown over time.
  • Made for Writers: Kyoto’s peaceful gardens and lovely streets, especially colorful in autumn, spark great stories. Walking through Arashiyama’s bamboo forest or along the Philosopher’s Path gives writers a perfect place to think deeply and find inspiration from nature, ideas, and life.
